Our School Sports Day is held every year during Active Schools Week in the Newmarket-on-Fergus GAA pitch. It is a great day filled with fun for all our current pupils, staff, families and wider community. It is also a day to welcome past pupils of our school who are always on hand to help out. Our teddy bears race for our new entrants starting school in September is always a great start to our events which include running races, egg and spoon races, sack races and wheelbarrow races. The highlight of the day is always the tug of war between our pupils and parents/grandparents at the end of the day. A nice hot lunch delivered by the wonderful team in Obair is always a big hit followed by a well deserved ice-cream. The medal presentation is always very exciting and everyone goes home happy with a medal!
