All pupils in the Senior room go on an annual cycle through Ballycar and the village of Newmarket On Fergus. Pupils learn to appreciate cycling as a form of exercise that suits all ages and fitness levels. All pupils in the school are encouraged to cycle to school and the school were successful in their application to An Taisce and The Safe Routes to School Programme for a safe and secure bicycle shelter installed at Ballycar N.S. Pupils also participated in the Clare Sports Partnership Bicycle Workshop where pupils were taught how to cycle and how to be safe when cycling.
